Description

Rabbit IL2 ELISA Kit

Rabbit IL2 ELISA kits are used to detect Interleukin 2 (IL2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. IL2 is a cytokine produced mainly by activated CD4-positive helper T cells, and to a lesser extent by CD8-positive T cells and natural killer cells, with pivotal roles in immune responses and tolerance. It binds either the high-affinity trimeric receptor of IL2RA, IL2RB and IL2RG or the lower-affinity dimeric receptor of IL2RB and IL2RG, activating JAK1, JAK3, STAT5, PI3K and MAPK pathways. IL2 acts as a T-cell growth factor, increases NK-cell cytotoxicity, supports B-cell proliferation and antibody production, and is essential for the survival of regulatory T cells and for differentiation of effector and memory T-cell subsets. Impaired IL2 signalling has been associated with autoimmunity, whereas recombinant IL2 is used in cancer immunotherapy.
