Description
RABV G/Glycoprotein Recombinant Protein (C-His)
RABV G/Glycoprotein Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in mammalian cells, spanning Met1-Leu524, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 60 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in 50 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 5 mM EDTA, 0.1% CHAPS, 4% Trehalose,1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Glycoprotein is a ~58 kDa protein. Attaches the virus to host cellular receptor, inducing endocytosis of the virion by using different host proteins including TFRC, GRM2 and ITGB1. For research use only.
In the endosome, the acidic pH induces conformational changes in the glycoprotein trimer, which trigger fusion between virus and cell membrane. There is convincing in vitro evidence that the muscular form of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), the neuronal cell adhesion molecule (NCAM), and the p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) bind glycoprotein and thereby facilitate rabies virus entry into cells.
