Description

Rat GZMB ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Rat GZMB ELISA kits are used to detect Granzyme B (GZMB) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. GZMB, or granzyme B, is a serine protease stored in the cytotoxic granules of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells. When these cells recognise a target, granzyme B is delivered through the immunological synapse and cleaves substrates after aspartate residues. It activates caspases such as caspase-3, -9 and -10 to drive apoptosis, and it cleaves gasdermin-E to release its pore-forming fragment and trigger pyroptosis. It also activates caspase-7 to promote membrane repair during bacterial infection. Because it reflects cytotoxic cell activity, granzyme B levels may be elevated in viral infection, autoimmune disease, transplant rejection and anti-tumour immune responses, and it is widely monitored as a marker of immune effector function.
