Description

Rat IgD ELISA Kit

Rat IgD ELISA kits are used to detect Immunoglobulin D (IgD) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. IgD is an immunoglobulin class whose heavy chain constant region is encoded by the IGHD gene. It is best known as a membrane-bound antigen receptor, coexpressed with IgM on the surface of most mature naive B cells, where it shares the same antigen-binding variable regions and induces phosphorylation of CD79A and CD79B through Src family kinases. A smaller secreted form circulates in serum at levels below those of IgG, IgA and IgM, but well above IgE, and it binds to basophils and other innate cells. Raised IgD levels have been described in periodic fever syndromes, particularly hyper-IgD syndrome, and in some myelomas.
