Description

Rat IL15Ra ELISA Kit

Rat IL15Ra ELISA kits are used to detect Interleukin 15 Receptor Alpha (IL15Ra) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. IL15Ra is the alpha subunit of the interleukin-15 receptor (CD215) and the high-affinity, specific binding chain for IL-15. It is expressed on monocytes, dendritic cells, NK cells and T cells, and it can signal both in cis and in trans, presenting IL-15 from one cell to neighboring cells that express the IL-2 receptor gamma chain. In neutrophils it activates the kinase SYK in response to IL-15 and is required for IL-15-induced phagocytosis. Several isoforms exist, and some of them do not bind IL-15, so expression of different forms may alter signal transduction. The IL-15 and IL15Ra axis is important for NK cell and memory T-cell homeostasis and is studied in autoimmunity and cancer immunotherapy.
