Description

Rat RIT2 ELISA Kit

Rat RIT2 ELISA kits are used to detect GTP-Binding Protein Rit2 (RIT2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. RIT2 is a small GTP-binding protein of the Ras family that binds and exchanges GTP and GDP, cycling between active and inactive states like other small GTPases. It is expressed mainly in neurons, where it is thought to take part in signalling pathways that support neuronal differentiation and survival, including cascades activated by neurotrophic factors and calcium. Genetic variation near the RIT2 locus has been associated in genome-wide studies with neurological conditions such as Parkinson disease and with essential tremor, which has drawn research interest to its role in dopaminergic neurons. RIT2 is therefore examined as a research target in neurobiology and neurodegeneration, where altered levels may reflect changes in neuronal signalling.
