The Recombinant Beclin 1 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C133233) against Beclin 1. Beclin-1 (BECN1), also known as ATG6 or VPS30, has a central role in autophagy, a process of programmed cell survival, which is increased during periods of cell stress and extinguished during the cell cycle. Beclin-1, may play a role in antiviral host defense. It protects against infection by a neurovirulent strain of Sindbis virus. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of K562, Rat Rat Brain, C6, 3T3, Hela. The target is localized to the Golgi apparatus>trans-Golgi network membrane. Interaction with ATG14 promotes translocation to autophagosomes. Expressed in dendrites and cell bodies of cerebellar Purkinje cells.
