The Recombinant Cytochrome C Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C123235) against Cytochrome C. Cytochrome c is a 12-15 kDa electron transporting protein located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Upon apoptotic stimulation, cytochrome c can be released from mitochondria into cytoplasm, resulting in caspase-3 activation and apoptosis. Measurement of cytochrome c release from the mitochondria is useful for detection of the onset of apoptosis in cells. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB and IHC-P applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of Jurkat, Rat Rat Brain, C6 and IHC analysis of Human tonsil. The target is localized to the mitochondrion matrix.
