The Recombinant HSD17B1 Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C321468) against HSD17B1. HSD17B1 is a member of the 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase family of short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases. It has a dual function in estrogen activation and androgen inactivation and plays a major role in establishing the estrogen E2 concentration gradient between serum and peripheral tissues. HSD17B1 catalyzes the last step in estrogen activation, using NADPH to convert estrogens E1 and E2 and androgens like 4-androstenedione, to testosterone. Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by Protein A affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB, IHC-P, FC and IP applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of Human placenta. The target is localized to the cytoplasm.
