Human CSNK2A2/CK2A2 Recombinant Protein

CSNK2A2, also known as CK2A2 and Casein kinase II subunit alpha, is a member of the protein kinase superfamily, Ser/Thr protein kinase family, and CK2 subfamily. Casein-kinases are enzymes that use acidic proteins such as caseins as substrates. The alpha and alpha' chains contain the catalytic site. CCSNK2A2 is a tetramer made up of an alpha chain, an alpha' chain, and two beta chains. The complex associated following UV irradiation is formed by a CK2-SPT16-SSRP1 system that features SSRP1, SUPT16H, CSNK2A1, CSNK2A2, and CSNK2B. Protein kinase Ck2 (Ck2) is a cyclic-AMP and calcium-independent serine-threonine kinase with two catalytic subunits (alpha and alpha') and two regulatory beta-subunits. In reality, CCK2 is not a casein kinase in cells. However, more than 100 substrates have been discovered. Ck2 appears to have a fundamental role in cell function based on the highly conserved amino acid sequences of its subunits and their widespread expression. Ck2 has been linked to DNA replication, basal and inducible transcription regulation, translation, and metabolism control. The Ck2alpha and Ck2alphas (products of the genes Csnk2a1 and Csnk2a2, respectively) are extremely homologous, with no explanation for their redundancy or evolutionary conservation. CSNK2A2 may be a candidate gene for these inherited syndromes. Human CSNK2A2/CK2A2 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
