Human NOL3 Recombinant Protein

Nucleolar protein 3 is encoded by NOL3 gene. Multiple transcript variants exist for this gene, each of which encodes a different isoform. So far, two isomeric forms of Nucleolar protein 3 have been discovered. Isoform 1 is thought to be involved in RNA splicing. Isoform 2 is an apoptosis repressor that inhibits a variety of cell death pathways. It inhibits extracellular apoptosis pathways in two ways by inhibiting both intrinsic and extrinsic apoptotic mechanisms. First, by interacting with FAS and FADD following FAS activation, it inhibits the formation of the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) . Finally, through their interactions with CASP8 in a manner that is dependent on mitochondrial localization and phosphorylation, they act to limit soluble CASP8 available for DISC-mediated activation. It has been found to downregulate caspase 2, caspase 8, and tumor protein p53 enzyme activities. Human NOL3 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
