Description
Recombinant LIV Envelope protein E, C-His
Recombinant LIV Envelope protein E, C-His is a recombinant protein expressed in mammalian cells, spanning Ser281-Gln684, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 47.14 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Genome polyprotein is a ~378 kDa protein. Capsid protein C self-assembles to form an icosahedral capsid about 30 nm in diameter. For research use only.
The capsid encapsulates the genomic RNA (Probable). Plays a role in virus budding by binding to the host endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane and gathering the viral RNA into a nucleocapsid that forms the core of a mature virus particle. The capsid protein initially binds electrostatically to lipids with negatively-charged head groups. Once membrane-bound, the capsid protein is able to recruit the viral genomic RNA onto the ER membrane.
