The Recombinant Synaptophysin Monoclonal Antibody is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone C723396) against Synaptophysin. This gene encodes an integral membrane protein of small synaptic vesicles in brain and endocrine cells. The protein also binds cholesterol and is thought to direct targeting of vesicle-associated membrane protein 2 (synaptobrevin) to intracellular compartments. Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation (XLMR). Produced by recombinant technology in Rabbit hosts and purified by affinity chromatography, this Rabbit IgG antibody is reactive against Human and Rat samples.
This antibody is suitable for WB and IHC-P applications. It has been validated by WB analysis of Rat Rat Brain and IHC analysis of Human Brain. The target is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle, synaptic vesicle membrane. cell junction, synapse, synaptosome.
