SARS-CoV Nucleoprotein Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ala422, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 46.02 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Nucleoprotein is a ~46 kDa protein. Packages the positive strand viral genome RNA into a helical ribonucleocapsid (RNP) and plays a fundamental role during virion assembly through its interactions with the viral genome and membrane protein M. Plays an important role in enhancing the efficiency of subgenomic viral RNA transcription as well as viral replication. May modulate transforming growth factor-beta signaling by binding host SMAD3.
