SeV HN Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser59-Ser575, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 59.32 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Hemagglutinin-neuraminidase is a ~63 kDa protein. Attaches the virus to sialic acid-containing cell receptors and thereby initiating infection. For research use only.
Binding of HN protein to the receptor induces a conformational change that allows the F protein to trigger virion/cell membranes fusion.
