Streptococcus pneumoniae psaA Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Lys34-Lys309, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 33.46 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Binds manganese with high affinity and specificity and delivers it to the membrane permease for translocation into the cytoplasm. Also acts as an adhesin which is involved on adherence to extracellular matrix. It is an important factor in pathogenesis and infection.
