VZV/HHV-3 Assemblin Recombinant Protein (N-His)
VZV/HHV-3 Assemblin Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu11-His231, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Capsid scaffolding protein is a ~66 kDa protein. Acts as a scaffold protein by binding major capsid protein in the cytoplasm, inducing the nuclear localization of both proteins. For research use only.
Multimerizes in the nucleus such as major capsid protein forms the icosahedral T=16 capsid. Autocatalytic cleavage releases the assembly protein, and subsequently abolishes interaction with major capsid protein. Cleavages products are evicted from the capsid before or during DNA packaging.
