BEFV Glycoprotein Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Lys56-Asp290, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 29.84 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Glycoprotein is a ~72 kDa protein. Attaches the virus to host cellular receptors, inducing endocytosis of the virion. For research use only.
The acidic pH of the endosome induces conformational changes in the glycoprotein trimer which trigger fusion between the virus and the cell membrane.
