CENP-A Antibody [5A7-2E11] is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against CENP-A, offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB and ICC/IF. Reported reactivity: Human. Supplied as IgG1, purified by Protein G.
CENPA is a histone H3 variant that defines centromeric chromatin and is essential for kinetochore assembly and chromosome segregation. It replaces canonical H3 in centromeric nucleosomes and recruits key centromere proteins such as CENP-C. While primarily studied in mitotic cells, emerging research suggests that CENPA may also play roles in post-mitotic neurons by maintaining chromatin architecture and genome stability. Disruption of centromeric integrity and epigenetic regulation has been linked to neuronal aging and neurodegenerative diseases. CENPA’s role in chromatin dynamics and nuclear organization positions it as a potential biomarker for genomic instability in neurodegeneration. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
