The DDC Antibody (CAB3828) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the DDC protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of DDC levels in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in neuroscience and neurology research. The DDC enzyme plays a crucial role in the production of neurotransmitters that are essential for proper brain function and neurotransmission. Dysregulation of DDC activity has been linked to various neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, ELISA, IF-P applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

Recombinant protein (or fragment). This information is considered to be commercially sensitive.
The encoded protein catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. Defects in this gene are the cause of aromatic L-amino-acid decarboxylase deficiency (AADCD). AADCD deficiency is an inborn error in neurotransmitter metabolism that leads to combined serotonin and catecholamine deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
