The Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) Antibody (CAB0461) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. It binds specifically to the Fatty Acid Synthase protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types.Fatty Acid Synthase is a key enzyme involved in the de novo synthesis of long-chain fatty acids, a process essential for cellular function and energy storage. Dysregulation of fatty acid metabolism has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, obesity, and metabolic disorders.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The enzyme encoded by this gene is a multifunctional protein. Its main function is to catalyze the synthesis of palmitate from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA, in the presence of NADPH, into long-chain saturated fatty acids. In some cancer cell lines, this protein has been found to be fused with estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-alpha), in which the N-terminus of FAS is fused in-frame with the C-terminus of ER-alpha.
