Human AADAT / Kynurenine / alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase ELISA Kit

AADAT is very similar to kynurenine aminotransferase 2 in mice and rats. AADAT from the rat is a homodimer with two transaminase activities. The transamination of alpha-aminoadipic acid, a final step in the saccaropine pathway, is one activity. Kynurenine is then converted to kynurenic acid, which has neuroprotective effects and is produced from kynurenine via transamination. AADAT encodes several transcript variants that produce two distinct isoforms. Detrusor Sphincter Dyssynergias and Huntington Disease are two examples of diseases linked to AADAT. Tryptophan metabolism, as well as Histidine, lysine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, proline, and tryptophan degradation are all pathways associated with AADAT.
