Description

Human ABCC12 ELISA Kit

Human ABCC12 ELISA kits are used to detect ATP Binding Cassette Transporter C12 (ABCC12) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ABCC12, also known as multidrug resistance-associated protein 9 or MRP9, is a member of the C subfamily of ATP-binding cassette transporters, which use ATP hydrolysis to move substrates across cell membranes. It is a probable transporter, but its substrate specificity has not been established. The ABCC12 gene lies next to ABCC11 on chromosome 16, and the protein is an atypical short MRP lacking the first membrane-spanning domain. Expression has been reported in the testis, where it may take part in sperm function, and in some breast tumours, in which it has been examined as a possible marker, particularly in oestrogen receptor-positive disease. It is mainly studied in transporter biology, male reproduction and cancer research.
