Description

Human ABCC9 ELISA Kit

Human ABCC9 ELISA kits are used to detect ATP Binding Cassette Transporter C9 (ABCC9) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ABCC9, also called sulfonylurea receptor 2 or SUR2, is a regulatory subunit of ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels rather than a classical transporter. It combines with the pore-forming subunit KCNJ11 to form cardiac and smooth muscle-type KATP channels, and with KCNJ8 to form a sulfonylurea-sensitive but ATP-insensitive potassium channel. ABCC9 is required for channel activation and regulation, linking the metabolic state of the cell to membrane excitability. Variants in the gene have been associated with dilated cardiomyopathy and familial atrial fibrillation, reflecting altered channel function. ABCC9 is therefore studied in cardiac and vascular physiology and in the pharmacology of sulfonylureas and KATP channel openers.
