Description
Human ABO Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human ABO Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Asn101-Pro354, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 31.95 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Histo-blood group ABO system transferase is a ~40 kDa protein. This protein is the basis of the ABO blood group system. For research use only.
The histo-blood group ABO involves three carbohydrate antigens: A, B, and H. A, B, and AB individuals express a glycosyltransferase activity that converts the H antigen to the A antigen (by addition of N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactosamine (GalNAc)) or to the B antigen (by addition of galactose (Gal)), whereas O individuals lack such activity and express the H antigen precursor unmodified.
