Description
Human AKR7A2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human AKR7A2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg37-Asn356, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 37.68 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Aflatoxin B1 aldehyde reductase member 2 (AKR7A2) is a ~39 kDa protein. Catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of succinic semialdehyde to gamma-hydroxybutyrate. For research use only.
May have an important role in producing the neuromodulator gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB). Has broad substrate specificity. Has NADPH-dependent aldehyde reductase activity towards 2-carboxybenzaldehyde, 2-nitrobenzaldehyde and pyridine-2-aldehyde (in vitro). Can reduce 1,2-naphthoquinone and 9,10-phenanthrenequinone (in vitro).
