Description

Human ANXA13 ELISA Kit

Human ANXA13 ELISA kits are used to detect Annexin A13 (ANXA13) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. ANXA13, or annexin A13, is the smallest and most ancient member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins, and it is expressed mainly in the epithelial cells of the intestine and kidney. Two splice forms, A and B, bind membranes rich in acidic phospholipids such as phosphatidylserine or phosphatidylglycerol in a calcium-dependent manner, with isoform A needing less calcium than isoform B. Unlike other annexins it is N-myristoylated and is associated with lipid rafts, and it takes part in the sorting and transport of vesicles to the apical membrane of polarised cells. ANXA13 has also been implicated in the regulation of cell adhesion and migration, and altered expression has been reported in some cancers, including colorectal and lung tumours.
