Description

Human ATXN10 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human ATXN10 ELISA kits are used to detect Ataxin 10 (ATXN10) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ATXN10, ataxin 10, is a widely expressed protein that is particularly abundant in the brain, including cerebellar neurons. It may play a role in the regulation of cytokinesis and in signalling through stimulation of protein glycosylation. It induces neuritogenesis by activating the Ras-MAP kinase pathway and is necessary for the survival of cerebellar neurons, while it does not appear to play a major role in ciliogenesis. Spinocerebellar ataxia type 10 is caused by an expanded pentanucleotide repeat in an intron of the gene, and it is characterised by progressive incoordination of gait, poor coordination of the hands, speech and eye movements, and cerebellar degeneration, often with seizures. ATXN10 is therefore studied in neurodegeneration, repeat expansion disorders and cerebellar function.
