Description
Human BACE1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human BACE1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu46-Thr457, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 48.21 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Beta-secretase 1 (BACE1) is a ~55 kDa protein. Responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP). For research use only.
Cleaves at the N-terminus of the A-beta peptide sequence, between residues 671 and 672 of APP, leads to the generation and extracellular release of beta-cleaved soluble APP, and a corresponding cell-associated C-terminal fragment which is later released by gamma-secretase. Cleaves CHL1.
