Human BCCIP Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser67-Val314, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 30.70 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. BRCA2 and CDKN1A-interacting protein (BCCIP) is a ~35 kDa protein. During interphase, required for microtubule organizing and anchoring activities. For research use only.
During mitosis, required for the organization and stabilization of the spindle pole. Isoform 2/alpha is particularly important for the regulation of microtubule anchoring, microtubule stability, spindle architecture and spindle orientation, compared to isoform 1/beta. May promote cell cycle arrest by enhancing the inhibition of CDK2 activity by CDKN1A. May be required for repair of DNA damage by homologous recombination in conjunction with BRCA2.
