Human BCL2 Recombinant Protein (C-His)

Human BCL2 Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Asp211, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 24.37 kDa. Purity: >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Apoptosis regulator Bcl-2 (BCL2) is a ~26 kDa protein. Suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells. For research use only.

Regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. Appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases. Inhibits caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1). Also acts as an inhibitor of autophagy: interacts with BECN1 and AMBRA1 during non-starvation conditions and inhibits their autophagy function.
