Description
Human BHMT Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human BHMT Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Lys11-Leu314, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 35.77 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Betaine--homocysteine S-methyltransferase 1 (BHMT) is a ~44 kDa protein. Involved in the regulation of homocysteine metabolism. For research use only.
Converts betaine and homocysteine to dimethylglycine and methionine, respectively. This reaction is also required for the irreversible oxidation of choline.
