Description
Human CBR1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human CBR1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Trp277, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 32.54 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Carbonyl reductase [NADPH] 1 (CBR1) is a ~30 kDa protein. NADPH-dependent reductase with broad substrate specificity. For research use only.
Catalyzes the reduction of a wide variety of carbonyl compounds including quinones, prostaglandins, menadione, plus various xenobiotics. Catalyzes the reduction of the antitumor anthracyclines doxorubicin and daunorubicin to the cardiotoxic compounds doxorubicinol and daunorubicinol. Can convert prostaglandin E to prostaglandin F2-alpha. Can bind glutathione, which explains its higher affinity for glutathione-conjugated substrates.
