Description
Human CBX1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human CBX1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu24-Leu168, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 18.87 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Chromobox protein homolog 1 (CBX1) is a ~21 kDa protein. Component of heterochromatin, which recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9', leading to epigenetic repression. For research use only.
Also recognizes and binds histone H1.4 methylated at 'Lys-26' (H1.4K26me). Excluded from chromatin when histone H1.4 is Simultaneously methylated at Lys-26 (H1.4K26me) and phosphorylated at Ser-27 (H1.4S27Ph). Interaction with lamin B receptor (LBR) can contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane.
