Human CD239 / BCAM ELISA

BCAM (Basal Cell Adhesion Molecule (Lutheran Blood Group)) encodes Lutheran blood group glycoprotein, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. BCAM encoded protein that is found on the surface of blood cells. It is also present in other tissues, including the brain, and helps to hold cells together. Diseases associated with BCAM include Lutheran Null and Sickle Cell Disease. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to BCAM include transmembrane signaling receptor activity and laminin binding. An important paralog of BCAM is MCAM.
