Description

Human CDK16 ELISA Kit

Human CDK16 ELISA kits are used to detect Cyclin Dependent Kinase 16 (CDK16) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. CDK16, also called PCTAIRE1 or PCTK1, is a cyclin-dependent kinase family member that is particularly prominent in brain and testis and is thought to act mainly outside the core cell cycle. It plays roles in vesicle-mediated transport and exocytosis, in part by phosphorylating NSF and thereby regulating its oligomerisation. It influences the release of growth hormone by brain neurons, neuronal differentiation and dendrite development, and is required for normal spermatogenesis. CDK16 has also been implicated in regulating insulin secretion in response to blood glucose, and it can phosphorylate cyclin Y. Raised CDK16 expression has been reported in several cancers, so it is investigated in neuroscience, reproductive biology and oncology.
