Human CES2 Recombinant Protein (N-GST)
Human CES2 Recombinant Protein (N-GST) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning His452-Leu559, with an N-terminal GST tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Cocaine esterase (CES2) is a ~61 kDa protein. Involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics and in the activation of ester and amide prodrugs. For research use only.
Shows high catalytic efficiency for hydrolysis of cocaine, 4-methylumbelliferyl acetate, heroin and 6-monoacetylmorphine. Hydrolyzes aspirin, substrates with large alcohol group and small acyl group and endogenous lipids such as triacylglycerol. Converts monoacylglycerides to free fatty acids and glycerol. Hydrolyzes of 2-arachidonoylglycerol and prostaglandins.
