Description

Human CG ELISA Kit

Human CG ELISA kits are used to detect Cryoglobulin (CG) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. CG denotes cryoglobulin, immunoglobulin that reversibly precipitates or forms a gel in serum at temperatures below 37 degrees Celsius and redissolves on rewarming. Cryoglobulins are classified as type I (a single monoclonal immunoglobulin), type II (monoclonal IgM with rheumatoid factor activity bound to polyclonal IgG) and type III (mixed polyclonal immunoglobulins). They can form immune complexes that deposit in small blood vessels and activate complement, causing inflammation. Their presence has been associated with lymphoproliferative disorders such as multiple myeloma, autoimmune diseases including Sjogren syndrome and lupus, and chronic infections, notably hepatitis C, and may lead to vasculitis with purpura, joint pain, neuropathy and kidney involvement.
