Description

Human CNX ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human CNX ELISA kits are used to detect Calnexin (CNX) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. CNX, or calnexin, is a calcium-binding chaperone of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane that interacts with newly synthesised monoglucosylated glycoproteins. It assists their folding and assembly and retains unassembled subunits and incorrectly folded proteins in the ER, so it is a major part of the ER quality control apparatus. Calnexin works in a cycle with calreticulin and the enzymes UGGT and glucosidase II. It also associates with partial T cell receptor complexes in immature thymocytes, where it may influence maturation, and may contribute to receptor-mediated endocytosis at the synapse. Because it is abundant and stable, calnexin is widely used as an ER marker in cell biology.
