Description
Human CYP2C9 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human CYP2C9 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gly40-Val490, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 53.77 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Cytochrome P450 2C9 is a ~55 kDa protein. A cytochrome P450 monooxygenase involved in the metabolism of various endogenous substrates, including fatty acids and steroids. For research use only.
Mechanistically, uses molecular oxygen inserting one oxygen atom into a substrate, and reducing the second into a water molecule, with two electrons provided by NADPH via cytochrome P450 reductase (NADPH--hemoprotein reductase). Catalyzes the epoxidation of double bonds of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). Catalyzes the hydroxylation of carbon-hydrogen bonds. Metabolizes cholesterol toward 25-hydroxycholesterol, a physiological regulator of cellular cholesterol homeostasis.
