Description
Human DCTD Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human DCTD Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gln178, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 22.18 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Deoxycytidylate deaminase is a ~20 kDa protein. Catalyzes the deamination of dCMP to dUMP, providing the nucleoside monophosphate substrate for the thymidylate synthase/TYMS. For research use only.
Also, part of a nucleotide salvage pathway that eliminates epigenetically modified 5-hydroxymethyl-dCMP (hmdCMP) in a two-step process entailing deamination to cytotoxic 5-hydroxymethyl-dUMP (hmdUMP), followed by its hydrolysis into 5-hydroxymethyluracil (hmU) and 2-deoxy-D-ribose 5-phosphate (deoxyribosephosphate). Catalyzes the first step in that pathway, the deamination of 5-hydroxymethyl-dCMP (hmdCMP).
