Description

Human DUSP1 ELISA Kit

Human DUSP1 ELISA kits are used to detect Dual Specificity Phosphatase 1 (DUSP1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. DUSP1, also called MKP-1, is a nuclear dual specificity phosphatase that dephosphorylates both phosphothreonine and phosphotyrosine residues of MAP kinases, thereby acting as a feedback inhibitor of MAPK signalling. It dephosphorylates ERK2 on Thr-183 and Tyr-185, which regulates its activity during the meiotic cell cycle, and it also acts on the stress-activated kinases p38 and JNK. Expression is rapidly induced by growth factors, oxidative stress, heat shock and glucocorticoids, so it functions as an immediate early gene that limits the duration of signalling. DUSP1 influences inflammation, cell survival and metabolism, and altered levels have been associated with cancer, resistance to chemotherapy, depression and insulin resistance.
