Description

Human EMP3 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human EMP3 ELISA kits are used to detect Epithelial Membrane Protein 3 (EMP3) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. EMP3, epithelial membrane protein 3, is a small tetraspan membrane protein of the PMP22/EMP/claudin family, also known as hematopoietic neural membrane protein 1. It is expressed in a range of tissues including the brain, lung, intestine and immune cells, and is thought to be involved in cell proliferation and cell-cell interactions. Members of this family are associated with cell adhesion, membrane organisation and growth control. Altered EMP3 expression has been reported in several cancers, with higher levels associated with progression in glioma, and with silencing by promoter methylation in other tumours, indicating context-dependent roles as an oncogene or a tumour suppressor, so EMP3 is studied as a candidate prognostic marker.
