Description

Human ETRB ELISA Kit

Human ETRB ELISA kits are used to detect Endothelin Receptor B (ETRB) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ETRB, or endothelin receptor type B (EDNRB), is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds endothelin-1, -2 and -3 with similar affinity and signals through G proteins to activate the phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. It is expressed in endothelial cells, where it stimulates release of nitric oxide and prostacyclin and clears circulating endothelin, and in smooth muscle, brain, kidney, and neural crest-derived cells such as melanocytes and enteric neuron precursors. Its role in neural crest development explains the phenotype of mutations in the gene, which are associated with Waardenburg syndrome type 4 and Hirschsprung disease, with pigmentation defects and deafness. ETRB is also studied in pulmonary hypertension, heart failure and cancer.
