Description

Human EXOSC7 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human EXOSC7 ELISA kits are used to detect Exosome Component 7 (EXOSC7) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. EXOSC7, also known as Rrp42, is a non-catalytic structural subunit of the RNA exosome, a multi-protein complex with 3' to 5' exoribonuclease activity found in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It forms part of the ring-like core of the complex, which is associated with catalytic subunits such as DIS3 and EXOSC10. In the nucleus the RNA exosome processes and matures stable RNA species such as ribosomal, small nuclear and small nucleolar RNAs and removes processing by-products and unstable transcripts, while in the cytoplasm it contributes to mRNA turnover and surveillance. Variants in genes encoding exosome subunits have been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, so EXOSC7 is studied in RNA metabolism and its links to disease.
