Description

Human FGF3 ELISA Kit

Human FGF3 ELISA kits are used to detect Fibroblast Growth Factor 3 (FGF3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. FGF3, also known as INT2, is a heparin-binding member of the fibroblast growth factor family that signals through FGF receptors to regulate embryonic development, cell proliferation and cell differentiation. FGF3 is expressed during development of the hindbrain, pharyngeal arches, teeth and inner ear, and it is required for normal ear development, including formation of the otic vesicle and inner ear structures. Homozygous loss-of-function mutations cause a recessive syndrome of deafness with complete absence of inner ear structures, together with microtia and microdontia. Amplification of the FGF3 gene region has been reported in some breast, bladder and oral cancers, so FGF3 is studied in developmental biology and oncology.
