Description
Human GNAL Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GNAL Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala41-Leu381, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 42.01 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(olf) subunit alpha is a ~44 kDa protein. Guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein) involved as transducer in olfactory signal transduction controlled by G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). For research use only.
Contains the guanine nucleotide binding site and alternates between an active, GTP-bound state and an inactive, GDP-bound state. Signaling by an activated GPCR promotes GDP release and GTP binding. The alpha subunit has a low GTPase activity that converts bound GTP to GDP, thereby terminating the signal. Both GDP release and GTP hydrolysis are modulated by numerous regulatory proteins.
