Description
Human GNAT1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GNAT1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Phe350, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 42.20 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(t) subunit alpha-1 (GNAT1) is a ~40 kDa protein. Functions as a signal transducer for the rod photoreceptor RHO. For research use only.
Required for normal RHO-mediated light perception by the retina. Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) function as transducers downstream of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), such as the photoreceptor RHO. The alpha chain contains the guanine nucleotide binding site and alternates between an active, GTP-bound state and an inactive, GDP-bound state. Activated RHO promotes GDP release and GTP binding.
