Description
Human GOT2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GOT2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser30-Lys430, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 47 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Aspartate aminotransferase, mitochondrial (GOT2) is a ~47 kDa protein. Catalyzes the irreversible transamination of the L-tryptophan metabolite L-kynurenine to form kynurenic acid (KA). For research use only.
As a member of the malate-aspartate shuttle, it has a key role in the intracellular NAD(H) redox balance. Is important for metabolite exchange between mitochondria and cytosol, and for amino acid metabolism. Facilitates cellular uptake of long-chain free fatty acids.
