Description
Human GTF2B Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GTF2B Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser108-Leu316, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Transcription initiation factor IIB is a ~34 kDa protein. General transcription factor that plays a role in transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II (Pol II). For research use only.
Involved in the pre-initiation complex (PIC) formation and Pol II recruitment at promoter DNA. Together with the TATA box-bound TBP forms the core initiation complex and provides a bridge between TBP and the Pol II-TFIIF complex. Released from the PIC early following the onset of transcription during the initiation and elongation transition and reassociates with TBP during the next transcription cycle. Associates with chromatin to core promoter-specific regions.
